With pleasure we announce the new membership of Stewardship, the Italian Association for Management Ethics Resources, with the Global Product Stewardship Council.
The Global Product Stewardship Council (GlobalPSC) is an independent, non-profit association that serves as an online clearinghouse of independent, objective information on product stewardship. Product stewardship is an environmental management strategy based on the principle that whoever designs, produces, sells or uses a product takes responsibility for minimising that product’s environmental impact, whether through voluntary action or co-regulatory or regulatory systems. This has moved well beyond the traditional end of life focus on products and incorporates broader aspects of sustainability and product design in addition to recovery.
GlobalPSC members span seven countries and include businesses of all sizes, NGOs and governments at federal, state/provincial and local levels. With interest in product stewardship spreading across the world, the GlobalPSC aims to promote understanding and best-practice internationally by facilitating discussions and the sharing of objective information. The GlobalPSC helps where possible to encourage harmonisation and the development of sensible, effective and cost-effective programs. While a fair amount of information is made publicly available, more detailed news, analysis and program information is reserved for members.
The collaboration of Stewardship, the Italian Association for Ethical Management of Resources with the Global Product Stewardship Council, is a great opportunity for the Italian business environment, to learn about theoretical, practical and product stewardship policies.
